Ten little leaves

Hello ladies,

Despite my needing to purchase an umbrella today, the sun came out for about an hour around 4:00 p.m., perhaps wanting to be invited for tea. I photographed Rimmel camouflage on my way to the cafe with sunbeams merrily accompanying me. Decorative copper with a green patina provides a back drop. I love how verdant and fresh this shade is! It makes me think of the word chlorophyll. My nails look like little leaves. The shimmer in camouflage is like tiny green and gold fairy lights strung through a glade.

The 60 Second formula by Rimmel is fantastic. It' s pigmented enough to cover thoroughly in two coats. The back of the bottle declares it a one coat polish. Not on my nails! The dry time is speedy but allows for an extra brushstroke or two for evening out mistakes.

I was in Sephora today with my girlfriends and a young woman working was excited by my polish and then equally dismayed following the information that it came from the drugstore. After producing the bottle from my purse, and a few moments of enthusiastic compliments for the brand, she seemed far more willing to try Rimmel. I understand how confusing it can be with polish when cost doesn't necessarily reflect quality. I was in Sephora to purchase Dark Room. I was standing in front of the Sephora by OPI display speaking for my affection of Rimmel.

Camouflage is one of my favorite greens. I can't imagine a day of the year I wouldn't want to wear it were the world, and my apartment, not so full of polish selections!

Here's a contest reminder for new readers: Enter to win a bottle of NYC Nail Glossies in Molten Metal. The contest is open to followers and e-mail subscribers worldwide!

Thanks ladies! Happy painting!

  1. Hmm...I've been eyeing that one. Guess I'll have to get it now. :) Looks great on you. I'm thinking it would look awesome with little gold leaves as an accent.

  4. I have this (and oh, so many more) in my untrieds, because I'd seen some lovely swatches of it. It looks stunning on your long nails! I do love greens of virtually any shade. I think because in general, green is my favorite color!
Your story reminds me of the last time I went to Sephora - only the sales girl was very easily convinced to try out my $2 Ruby Kisses pedicure, she seemed to be the exact opposite, very enthusiastic about the color despite the fact it was a "cheapie". It was refreshing!

  5. I can't stand when people get snobby about drugstore brands. I think they are just as good if not better than a lot of the expensive brands. I LOVE Milani, Sally Hansen Salon, and Revlon. Maybelline is good too. I think Milani is my favorite though. I have a few of the older Rimmels. Most of the drugstores here have a smaller selection of Rimmel polishes and that's disappointing. My favorite is the discontinued Zeitgeist.

  6. I only have one Rimmel polish - a Rimmel Underground one. I actually don't even have that one anymore, I gave it away. I'll have to try the 60 second line:)

  7. I'd love to have this color. Is there a dupe for it? I might even have a dupe, I hope so. Greens are my favorite polish color. I don't own any Rimmel's. I have to get the Sephora polish. It's a gorgeous color.

  8. Nosaby: I will definitely bring camouflage back with stamping. I was trying to get to brunch on time. I agree some added leaves would have been pretty as well. :)

Mary: I felt the same way. It was in my untrieds forever! I figured I would provide a good service reminding others to wear it or make the purchase.

gildedangel: Thank you! You will see more greens here. I love them too!

Nicole: Ruby Kisses looked so nice on you. I can understand why she responded so favorably. Oh, try the camouflage. You'll wear it well. :)

Lisa: Thankfully, our occasionally forays to Ulta will keep us in Rimmel. I enjoy a mix of brands too. I can't imagine not purchasing polish at the drugstore. It's been a joy all my life!

Home Spa Goddess: The 60 second line is quite nice if you like quick dry polishes. They are worth a try especially for the price.

Lucy: I don't know of a dupe to camouflage. I have some of the older OPI greens. I will be posting some of those soon so we can look together. Thankfully, Rimmel is only 3.49!
