100+ followers giveaway: Painted Halloween Lady

Hello ladies,

I am so excited to be bringing news of another giveaway! I feel so lucky you all stop by my blog. I love being able to offer treats in gratitude. This time we are celebrating the hundred plus ladies who gather here in love of nail polish. Since we are nearing the Halloween season, I have two very special offerings for you.

The first is a new bottle of the discontinued and much sought after Essie St. Martin Mint. The color fits in beautifully with the pale green trend this fall season. I also think the shade would make a fabulous base for spooky or magical nail art. The bottle you will be receiving is an unused back up bottle. My nails were painted using my own bottle of St. Martin Mint.

The second and most wondrous prize is an original Halloween painting by Sarada. To celebrate the season with whimsy, she created an image of a witch beautifying her nails with green polish. As a reader of painted Lady fingers, she knows about the fascination with owls many of us have. What better companion could this pretty witch have than an owl observing her nail care regimen? Even the Moon gazes earthward in the love of nail polish! The jack-o-lantern bottles fitted with witch hat applicators are so delightful!

This painting would make a lively decoration for Halloween. She would look festive by the door when trick-or-treaters arrive. It would also be a nice treat for the Harry Potter reader. I could readily imagine this witch at Hogworts. Sarada's acrylic painting measures six by eight inches on canvas board.

Sarada was kind to partner with me for this contest. Please visit her artist blog and her etsy shop. She offers custom paintings, prints, photography and ACEOs.

The last contest was great fun. I did notice that some entrants who didn't have a blog were vocal about wanting more options for chances to win. I expanded the ways that you can enter in response to these requests.

Ways to enter the giveaway:

1) Become a follower or e-mail subscriber of painted Lady fingers.  If you are currently a follower or subscriber, that counts too! Since this is a celebratory contest for followers, it's essential to be a follower or subscriber to enter.  Please let me know in the comments which option you choose for keeping up with painted Lady fingers. 1 entry

The rest of the entries are optional.

2) Tell me what you love about Halloween or share a favorite Halloween memory. If Halloween isn't celebrated in your country, let me know what intrigues you about the holiday. 1 entry

3) Have painted Lady fingers on your blogroll. Please post a link unless I comment regularly on your blog. In any case, please remind me. 1 entry

4) Create a post about this giveaway or mention it on your blog. Please provide a link. 2 entries.

5) Become a follower or e-mail subscriber of artbysarada.  Please let me know which way you decide to keep up with her blog. 1 entry

6) Add artbysarada to your etsy favorites. 1 entry

7) Tweet about the giveaway. Please provide a link. 1 entry

I hope I provided you ladies with enough options for entry this time. I do always check the links you post for contest entries and verify the follower/subscriber lists. I appreciate the time you take to enter so I respectfully keep track for fairness and good feeling. Please leave your entries in the comments. You can do one comment with all your entries or return and add more comments as you complete the entries. Whatever works for you, I am game! My Virgo self can keep track.

Please include your e-mail in the comments so I can reach you if you win.

The contest is open internationally. It runs through October 1st. Good luck, ladies! Thank you so much for all of your support and positivity.

    5) My best Halloween memory is when I was in 11th grade. As a kid, I wasn't allowed to celebrate (THE DEVIL!!). I even had to sit in the hallway at school when I was really little if they did anything Halloween related in class! but in 11th grade I went out on my first ever Trick or Treating adventure. It was so much fun! I was Raggedy Ann. LOL.

  14. Hi Lady D, DanaCerise here.
Love the manicure you did with St. Martin Mint! It looks like key lime custard. Mmmmm.
Please enter me in the contest: danaenfi at yahoo dot com

    1)I'm an email subcriber.

2)One halloween memory is the first year my brother and I went trick-or-treating. My mother took us. We lived out in the country in the Florida panhandle. It really seemed spooky that night since there was no moon. It seemed like every dog in the area was running loose! We spent the evening running from dogs chasing us. I told my bro (who was a year younger and was afraid of the dark) that the dogs were werewolves.

    **Bonus halloween memory!
I didn't wear a costume to school in first grade. My family didn't have much money (and we couldn't afford to cut up a spare sheet). I went wearing a white overall dress with little red & pink roses on it that my grandma made (My grandma made a handful of dresses for me--which I look back on and think: wow, those were cool!--and those dresses and church sale clothes were all I wore).
In between the lines of flowers were printed the words "Rosy, Posey." I wore it that day because it was clean. Many kids picked on me because I was the only one who didn't have a costume.
So I was in line for lunch in the hallway, staring at the floor and feeling self-conscious. A beaming teacher came up to me and said, "Wow, I love your costume!" I blinked up at her, "But I'm not wearing a costume."
She looked confused and said: "But you've dressed up as beautiful doll." She took my hand and walked with me to the front of the lunch line.

  15. Congrats to you sweetie! That's wonderful for you. Thanks so much for having this giveaway. I am a follower of your blog. I'm also a follower of artbysarada. I love Halloween. I have nothing but good memories of this holiday. My Mother made costumes for me. I had beautiful costumes made with beautiful materials. She made me a gypsy costume which was made out of silk and satin. Beautiful bright colors. I had a long skirt, a silk blouse and a bolero. The next year I had a beautiful Dutch girl outfit. My Mother looked up the outfit in the encyclopedia. I had another gorgeous skirt, blouse and vest with a Dutch cap. I didn't have any wooden shoes. I had a really beautiful Little Bo Peep costume. My favorite with a long pink dress with a white underskirt. It was gathered up all around the skirt. I had a beautiful bonnet and a staff wrapped in pink ribbon. She was wonderful. I have 3 entries for the giveaway.

2)The best thing about Halloween to me is how creative you can be! I spend a lot of time coming up with my costume and sustomizing every detail of it. In fact last Halloween was the reason for my interest in nail polish. I bought SC bronze and I loved it and started buying more and wearing it!

We don't quite celebrate Halloween in Finland, but I do like the holiday. I thinks it's fun in America, but doesn't fit in to the finnish mentality :D The basic Halloween colours are lovely; orange and black makes a good combo on nailspolishes too!

  29. Hi! I'm Lauren and am excited to be following your blog now! :)

What I love about Halloween: carving pumpkins, cool perfect weather (in Michigan, where I grew up), and chocolate candy!! I used to love dressing up to go trick-or-treating but haven't done that in years. Oh and I will for sure be loving Halloween nails this year!!

  30. 1) i am now following your fabulous blog!

    2) Can I share two? When I was little I went trick-or-treating with ym cousin Laura but unfortunately I don't really remember it. I wish I did because it was during a remission phase of her leukemia and she died a year later. But I still treasure the picture and keep it hanging on my 'pictures wall'. My other favourite is from 8th grade. Probably silly but it was just me and my new group of best girlfriends, we were all just starting to click together as a large group of friends and we went over to one of the girls house to trick-or-treat. I was excited because although i'd been with laura i didn't remeber it and now I could finally go and remember the process! My mom didn't celebrate it or believe in trick-or-treating so it was this amazing time of new friendships and eating lots of candy and being silly

  45. I already follow your blog, I'm both a follower and an e-mail subscriber so I don't miss a word you write ;-)

In my country we don't celebrate Halloween, but a long time ago, I was a young exchange student in the US for one year. I spent a fantastically haunting and exciting day (and night) that year. A group of teenagers (with aid of grown ups) created a "haunted house" in an abandoned building. We played up small acts in each room of the building, inviting the younger kids that was "trick or treating" to go through the house and be scared by us. It was hilarious and very kind-hearted, and at the end of the tour all the kids got a bag of sweets. The activity was early evening and then everybody was supposed to go home.

The small town I lived in had a local rule that forbade people under 18 to be outside without parental guiding after 10 pm, but that night I broke the rule. I actually climbed out of my bed room window to meet with some of the friends from the "ghost house". One of my friends had a car, and we went to a cematary at the outskirts of town, just to hang out. Maybe I was kissed there as the clock struck midnight, or maybe not.. ;-)

I'm a follower, and I've long since had you on my blogroll :) One of my favorite Halloween memories is an American Indian "princess" dress my aunt sewed for me when I was about nine years old. I remember us going to fabric stores and picking out the beading she would attach. I loved that dress so much I wore it for the next couple of years!
