Holographic hedgerow

Hello ladies,

I usually prefer to show contrast with my nails and the picture background, but I was really charmed to be blending with the sun against a hedgerow. I was at Rittenhouse Square today eating Tokyo buckwheat soba noodles by the fountain and realized my manicure harmonized with the nearby greenery.

Today I am wearing Gleaming Green, a Milani polish I discovered Thursday night in a nearly empty display at CVS.  Also compiled in my shopping basket were Starry Pink, Glittering Coral, Gaudy Yellow, Sparkling Blue, and Shimmering Purple. I'm not sure what other colors were available because what was there is now in my apartment.

This Milani collection reminds me of the discontinued L'Oreal Bijou Crystals polishes with the addition of bar glitter. Each shimmer base contains square holographic glitter pieces and thin strips of reflective glitter. Please click on the photos to see the glitter in Gleaming Green at full magnification. You deserve the pleasure, truly.

Look at the profusion of bar glitter above!

I am rather besotted with Gleaming Green. Even one of the rabbits on my trinket box had to forgo the hand painted grass for a moment and look up at the majestic sparkle.

I needed three coats to avoid bare stripes on the nail. The formula is very thick. I had to paint closer to the cuticle on my second and third coats. I'm not certain if there was cuticle drag or if the formula was so viscous it sat exactly where it was brushed and didn't wander a half centimeter. It wasn't impossible to manage, but I find other Milani polishes to have far easier  application. What is favorable is the bar glitter did not pop up once coated with CND Air Dry. A thicker formula topcoat should smooth out the nail and cement the bar glitter. Gleaming Green has a faint amount of texture after topcoat. My cat Fortune was in rapture when I was rubbing the surface of my nail across the bridge of his nose.

I may not be able to resist wearing another one of these this week. I can't believe I own a polish called Gaudy Yellow.

Happy, sparkly painting, ladies!

  8. kittyluvscolor: Thank you Kitty! Best of luck to you in glitter hunting! I'm going to put up another one these lovelies tonight.

    gildedangel: Thanks love!

artbysarada: I found out the display only has one of each glitter polish and one of each creme. Apparently there is also an orange! I'll have to run screaming through the streets with you on the thought of bright orange with holographic bar glitter.

Skye: Frogs and meadows are indeed delightful! The corner grocery nearby has a stock of healthy vegan prepared dishes. It's the perfect weather here to go off to the park with lunch, a prop and a camera. :)

Cali369: Thank you! I was quite amazed by it too!

Nicole: Thanks! I think you will love this collection!

beautyjudy: I laughed so much over Gaudy Yellow! Thank you. I'm glad you enjoyed the prop as well as the polish. :)

Lucy: Thank you so much! I have another color ready to post tonight. I hope you enjoy the coral too. :)
