Roses and Glamour

Hello ladies,

For a little glamour this Valentine's Day, I would recommend Nubar Fire Sparkle. This warm toned red glitter is a pretty, romantic accessory. I decided to add roses and pearls to fit the occasion.

The roses were stamped with white pearl special polish. The design can be found on Konad plate M35. If only garden roses bloomed with pearls in the center! There is your bit of whimsy for the day.

Fire Sparkle has red glitter in a tinted base. I am wearing two coats. I really can't decide if I prefer the formula with the glitter in a clear base or a colored base. With a tinted base, the polish requires less coats. The clear base allows for more reflectiveness and greater options for application techniques. I am glad this collection has a mix of formulas.

The Nubar Sparkles Collection is available for purchase at bynubar.com. Fire Sparkle was sent to me for review.

Happy painting, ladies.

  2. I really like this Valentine's Day manicure. There's no hearts or pink, yet it's both appropriate for this holiday, and very glamorous as well.

  9. This is my first time commenting, but I've been reading your blog for almost a year. They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, so I thought I'd tell you that I ordered myself some rhinestones and pearls. I love how you use them in your lovely manicures. I just had to try them myself, any tips for a newbie about using rhinestones and pearls? Michelle

Cyan: Thanks! I am glad you like my expression of Valentine's Day. I won't be doing too many pink hearts designs this week, but expect one or two. I favor red over pink as well.

Silhouette Screams: Thanks so much! Fire Sparkle and Ruby Pumps are distinct enough to warrant owning both. Between the two, I think I prefer Fire Sparkle slightly more. I have been really taken with the pearls lately. <3

Thess: Thanks so much! I appreciate it. :)

Michelle: Thank you so much for commenting. Welcome! All of the designs I do are meant to be shared and enjoyed. I am happy you purchased your own rhinestones and pearls. I use a picker upper tool. It's pink plastic with ends that rhinestones stick to. I use the tool to move one rhinestone at a time and stick each jewel into wet topcoat. I use another layer of topcoat to seal the look. I hope that helps you. :)

    Niki*: Thanks so much!<3

Charity: Thank you! I am quite smitten with Fire Sparkle.

Nicole: Thanks, sweetie. I could totally see you wearing Fire Sparkle. <3
