Little fireflies

Hello ladies,

Today I am sharing an untried and true manicure, a long ago beauty: China Glaze Crystal Ball. Within the burgundy shimmer are holographic particles that shine like little fireflies. For added sparkle, I centered large rainbow rhinestones on each tip. These nail jewels are from Essence.

I was so happy to be greeted by bright daffodils near Fitler Square. I loved how the Spring yellow complemented the glitter in Crystal Ball.

Crystal Ball took three coats to achieve perfect opacity. Otherwise, the application was the typical salon quality expected from China Glaze. The glitter in Crystal Ball is very similar to China Glaze Fairy Dust. There is something special about having it swirled into the base color rather than painting it as a topcoat.

Unfortunately, this shade has been discontinued and is difficult to find. For a chance to win a new bottle of Crystal Ball, check out the Smooth and Polished Giveaway.

Happy painting, ladies!

  9. Very pretty! I've never seen this shade before. Shame it's been discontinued. Love the jewel on your nail tips. Thanks for the daffodil photo. I love the Spring flowers. My Mother used to garden and always had a huge selection of different varieties of daffodils. It still seems odd after all these years that I don't go out to buy Easter plants for my Mother to put in her garden.
