Hard Candy Eye Look

Hello ladies,

I thought I would share a simple eye look created with Hard Candy cosmetics. This is typical of how I make up my eyes every day.

My lashes are tipped in pink!

I love the sheen in this photo. The camera is maximizing the depth of the contour. There is more color blending happening in real life.
Kal-eye-descope Baked Eyeshadow Duo in rock n roll.

The baked duo has an amazing amount of sparkle.
Walk the Line liquid eyeliner in sugar plum.
Lash Call Lengthening Mascara in punk.
I had to take a diffuse light photo to display the brush shape. The pink is indeed as bright as shown in the full product picture. In full sun, all you could see was pink! Fascinating.

These purple flowers were my inspiration.

I began with Hard Candy's primer that comes packaged as a mini with the In the Shadows palette. I was pleased with how it helped my eye shadow adhere and stay in place. I wish they sold this product full size.

The Kal-eye-descope Baked Eyeshadow Duo is incredible. It offers a similar intensity to MAC pigments, but with easier application. You can also use less for a more subtle look. There is so much sparkle and pigmentation that two shadow colors can be blended for a noticeable effect. I felt like the result looked more like several combined shades than a mere pairing. I'm interested in experimenting with more shades from this line and combining colors from various baked duos for greater depth and intensity.

Walk the Line liquid eyeliner is so easy to work with. I was able to go over the line with the brush without making it seem choppy. If you are a novice with liquid liner, check out Walk the Line. It's very user friendly.

Although I wish I had used a little more mascara, I am pleased with the color payoff. I'm really interested in trying the green (Limelight) and the blue (Peacock). Colored mascara makes me so nostalgic. I used to wear blue and purple mascara when I was in my early teens. Have any of you ladies tried mascara in fashion colors?
There was lovely sun and a fair amount of wind today playing a bit with my eyebrows and lashes. I could have used some brow gel, but then, what fun would the wind have had?

What do you think of my eyes today?

The products featured in this post were sent to me for review. You can learn more about the Hard Candy range of cosmetics at hardcandy.com. To purchase, visit a Walmart retail location or shop on-line at walmart.com.

Happy painting, ladies!

  4. The Diva's Polish: Thanks, Danielle! You know how I love purple. I'm really enjoying Hard Candy's baked products. I feel like there is so much varying pigment formed into two shades. I think my gentle eyes are expressing, "Ooh, trinkets!". ;)

Kae: Thanks so much. You made me laugh too! <3

  6. kganir: Thank you! I really recommend the baked shadows and bronzer. I am happy with all the Hard Candy cosmetics I have tried so far. Even with the affordable price points, you can tell the line had roots in better department stores. I don't blame you in wanting to try the nail colors before the end of the contest! I added you to my blogroll too!

  8. Thanks, Michelle! I am really enamored with the pink mascara. It has a feathery look to it. I have a dark green one to show as well. I haven't been this excited about mascara in quite awhile. <3

  11. I have never even considered colored mascara, but seeing how cute it is, omg I need it!

Also, you should look into Urban Decay's primer potion. They sell travel, regular and XL sizes of it, it lasts forever, and works really well :)

  13. Your eyes looks so ethereal! I have worn colored mascara-hot pink, red, blue and green. I love the look. Sometimes I would place a bit of the colored mascara over black mascara. I can't wait to see the other choices on you.

  14. Beautiful eyes! I adore using purples on my eyes also. Deep greens are also a favorite. This really looks to be a nice eyeshadow. I really like using baked makeup. I use Laura Geller's baked foundation, blush and eyeshadows. I love the finish that baked products give. They do give a beautiful sheen and blendability. I have the green mascara. I won it from a blog, I forget which one. I love using it. It's a Hard Candy also. I have a blue mascara also but it's very gloppy. I don't remember what the brand is. I bought it from BeautyTicket.com. I didn't think I'd be wearing these colors anymore. My Mother always told me when you get older you stop caring so much what others think of you. I'm finding that out to be true. I will please myself as to my nail polish shades and makeup!
