A skin brightening, pore clearing facial mask

Hello ladies,

Today I am sharing my experiences using an exfoliating facial mask called Non-Chemical Light Skin Peel. This mask is produced by Reviva Labs, a natural skin care company. I was really impressed by this product's ability to clear pores and brighten the complexion in the span of five minutes. I noticed a difference in my skin after one application.

Non Chemical Light Skin Peel contains crushed almonds and white clay (kaolin).
My skin tends to be very clear except for the areas on the sides of my nose. Even though my skin type is dry, I am prone to developing blackheads. I have small pores and I find it a consistent effort to keep them clear. I've used pore strips and an extractor as well as regular exfoliation with facial scrubs. Use of Non-Chemical Light Skin Peel made my pores appears even smaller. It also dislodged some of the debris clogging my pores. I much prefer using this facial mask to pore strips.

I met with a friend of mine this afternoon who has a similar issue. After examining my face closely, she is enthusiastic about the results and wants to try Non-Chemical Light Peel herself.

I enjoy the pampering feeling of applying a facial mask. In the past, it has been less about seeing an immediate result, and more about focusing on relaxation and self care. With this product, I recommend using a timer. The directions state to let dry 3-5 minutes. I think five minutes would be best for oily or problem skin. The first time I used Non-Chemical Light Skin Peel I waited five minutes before removal. That was a bit too long a duration for my dry skin. I will apply this product weekly April through September. I plan to use Light Skin Peel occasionally in winter for dry skin exfoliation.

Here is the list of ingredients: Purified Water, SD Alcohol 40, crushed almonds, vegetable oil, zinc oxide, kaolin, starch, glycerin, chamomile, methylcellulose, salicylic acid, allantoin, papain, Potassium Sorbate, Sodium Benzoate, Citric Acid, and oil of thyme.

I found Non-Chemical Light Skin Peel helped refine my skin texture. My skin felt very smooth and even after using this product. Papaya extract and salicylic acid work together to remove dead skin cells and brighten the complexion. Dry skin can really benefit from deeper exfoliation. This product helps dissolve dead surface skin cells, allowing moisturizer to penetrate the skin more effectively.

The almonds are crushed finely enough that they exfoliate without scratching. Kaolin clay has drying properties and is used to help heal the skin from acne. Essential oil of thyme is reported to increase circulation and has antibacterial, antioxidant, antiseptic and astringent qualities. It also makes the mask smell like an herb garden. Thyme is one of the ingredients in Herbs de Provence. The natural scent does make me think pleasantly of gardening and cooking. That in itself is relaxing.

Non-Chemical Light Skin Peel was sent to me for review. This product can be purchased from revivalabs.com and may be available at your local health care store.

Happy painting, ladies! There will be lots of nail polish later today!

  4. Lisa: I had initially seen Reviva Labs products in health food stores and I was very curious. I'm going to be posting another review in the next week or so about a treatment facial moisturizer. I'm really pleased with the results so far.

  5. I'm sort of skincare challenged... so I honestly have never known what was best for my skin! LOL. This looks really great, though! I definitely will have to give it a whirl. Maybe you can look at my face on Saturday and say "hey, woman, you should use that!" or something :P I won't have my normal ton of makeup on, since I'll be sweating on my run! ack!

  9. I can't believe I'm a month behind on your blog. I'm thoroughly ashamed of myself. Darn those Facebook Games. I also have monster pores. I have to start using a mask again. They really do make a difference to your skins clarity and condition. Reviva Labs has been around a long time. When I used to go to GNC I would see their products. I've never tried any. I have used products in the past with almond in them as a scrub.
