Hello ladies,
Today I created a refreshing manicure with a purple and pink jelly polish from Diamond Cosmetics. Twilight Violet reminds me so much of berry sorbet. I had a mix of inspiration for this look. I was initially thinking about rainbow sprinkles over ice cream. I also was considering the name of the polish. I visualized flowers in half light and the emergence of stars. The temperature cools at twilight. If you add a cup full of berry sorbet, it becomes cooler still.
The flowers look a bit like decals, but each jewel and pearl was applied individually. I started with the flower image from Bundle Monster plate BM03. I chose Konad blue pearl special polish for stamping. A colored pearl was added to the center of each flower. I then alternated colors of the petal shaped rhinestones. Twilight Violet reflects blue and pink shimmer. I selected gems to complement the sparkle.
The majority of the photos were taken in full sun. I added a few pictures with diffuse light so you could see the soft glow of Twilight Violet.
Giant hibiscus flower! A bush full of these blooms is an amazing sight! The flowers are about the size of dinner plates.

Just walking by...I saw this little bunny in so many places all over the garden. I think he was following me.
I painted three coats of Twilight Violet for perfect opacity. Shorter nails may only need two coats. The color applied beautifully. I am especially fond of the formula of Diamond Cosmetics jelly finishes and shimmers. The ones I have tried are practically flawless.
I know there a quite a few of you who are Twilight series fans. Are any of you interested in purchasing this polish for the name alone? Or does the similarity to berry sorbet compel your interest?
Twilight Violet was sent to me for review. US residents can purchase this shade for $2.25 at diamondcosmetics.com. International readers, please see this post for purchasing information. Oh wow! This mani is so beautiful! It must have taken ages to do. The colors look so nice together. I love the designs that are simple since they look equally nice up close or at a distance.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty! I'd definitely be more interested in the berry sorbet similarity than the vampire reference.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty, I love all the details :)
ReplyDeleteMillie: Thanks so much! I am pretty quick with the rhinestone pick up tool, but it did take awhile. I try to balance my love of polish with my love of ornamentation.
ReplyDeleteZara: Thank you! Yes, I am more for the berry sorbet myself. :)
Cel: Thank you! I appreciate your kind words! <3
I'm not a huge fan of this manicure...but the flowers and bunny... Do you live on a Teletubbies set?! XD That's just too cute to be true.
ReplyDeletenihrida: I have a couple looks planned next week I think would suit you. :) There were lots of gardeners out today and the bunny seemed to know I was a friend. I walked all through the garden and he hopped in and out of planting beds right next to me. The shadow you see over the bunny is my shadow! He was maybe three feet away in that photo.
ReplyDeleteI love it <3, amazing nails...
ReplyDeleteDiana, those flowers are awesome! The real ones & the ones on your nails =) They are so perfect & even, you make me want to bust out my rhinestones ... though I'd probably use fewer because I don't think I could get mine on that straight LOL
ReplyDeleteThat flower is HUGE! And beautiful. =)

ReplyDeleteYour mani is pretty too!
That's a really cute mani, though not for me. Shadow bunny!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful manicure. Love this shade. Reminds me of black raspberry icecream. Love the design you chose. Looks lovely with all the flowers. The hibiscus is so beautiful. I've never seen a real one. Love the variety of flowers your included in your post.
ReplyDeleteThe decals definitely add a finishing touch. It's such a gorgeous, feminine mani! <3
ReplyDeleteI don't know what I like better, the manicure or the amazing flowers! That hibiscus is insane!! And I love what you did with the individual rhinestones. Very pretty!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful summer color - I'm sure everyone reading is hankering after some sorbet now!
ReplyDeleteI think the rabbit heard that you post wildlife photos on the blog, and was following you in hopes of appearing here. :)
Love this one - it looks all whimsical with the stamp coming out from under the gems. My daughter keeps saying, mom, I wonder how she does that? How come your nails don't look like that? And this is why I read blog posts when they are sleeping. Nope, my nails are not that pretty, thank you for reminding me. :)
ReplyDeleteThe flower is absolutely gorgeous and the bunny adorable! I always love the pictures you post along with the mani!
Those nails are gorgeous. Love the nail art.
