Spotted Gecko

Hello ladies,

Years ago I used to go shopping with my grandmother in Rancocas Woods at the antique fair. There were tables positioned under the trees behind the main street of shops. I once found a lizard pin with tiny crystals. It may have been a salamander or a spotted gecko. While I no longer have the pin, I kept the memory of the iridescent gems and the color of the leaves, shadowing the arrangement of trinkets.

I began with BB Couture Grasshopper. From Bundle Monster plate BM15, I stamped the gecko with China Glaze 2030. I placed a rainbow crystal in the center of each gecko and framed it with two colored spheres. I alternated sage green and pale copper spheres every other nail. I also flipped the image of the gecko. I liked the idea of creating a pattern that is distinct from the wee lizards.

Grasshopper has faery shimmer suspended in a jelly formula. This polish applies beautifully and dries fast. Three coats will leave a hint of visible nail line. I am showing four coats on my nails.

I love the subtlety of this manicure. At some angles, the pattern looks like paisleys. In others, the geckos are sunning themselves in the trees.

This shade was sent to me for review. Grasshopper and other colors from the Cantina Nights Collection are available for purchase at overallbeauty.com. For a chance to win your choice of five polishes from Cantina Nights, please stop by the Naturally Beautiful and Polished Giveaway.

Happy painting, ladies!
