Peep! Peep! Peep!

Hello ladies,

I spent the past couple days at my sister's house. There I became acquainted with the new baby chicks in residence. They are soft, sociable, and love kisses.
Why, hello there, gorgeous!
A calisthenics demonstration. Bend over and touch your webbed feet.
Curiouser and curiouser!
Two to tango.
A surly lass.
Chinny chin chin!
A backwards glance.

All the girls together...though there might be a secret rooster among them.

I hope you enjoyed the fauna and the whimsy of the day.

Happy painting, ladies!

  3. Even as a polish-addict I prefer baby animals over almost every polish. These chicks are too cute :-)

  4. Awwww.... CUTE! Few things are cuter than chickens. Except ducklings maybe? I'd love to have ducks and hens. I've always wanted that since I was a kid. Thank you for the photos! :)

  5. peripatetic33: I knew you would love the little chicks! <3

MissMidnightBlue: They are! The chicks were attempting to jump up and be held when I was taking the pictures. Adorable!

PolishSis: I can't resist having animals do guest appearances. :)

nathalie: My friend David and I rescued baby goslings. I was able to carry one to safety. It was such a nice experience. I think goslings are my favorite baby birds, though the chicks are irresistible.

  6. How's your sister doing? I hope things are going well for her. The chicks are adorable. I remember when I was younger and my brother and I got chicks for Easter. The poor little things never would last. We fed them and had a little pen for them. No luck. My Mom had a chicken house and we got to feed them. She thought we would add to our big chicks. No dice! Glad these little chicks are doing well. They're so cute.

  7. I love baby chicks! I have family in the country side and when I was younger, whenever a baby chick would get sick, I always tried to save them! Sometimes successfully, sometimes not :( ^__^

  8. Lucy: My sister is showing some early signs of improvement. We'll know more in a few weeks, but I am hopeful. It's so nice to see her up and walking several times a day. The baby chicks are in residence in my niece Julianna's room with a heat lamp and lots of love and attention. So many animals in the household!

Akuma Kanji: I love them too. My sister lives near a creek and woods. There is room for a chicken coop in her yard. It's nice to visit and be greeted by chickens of all ages and sizes. They run right up to the gate!

  12. The chicks have become so adventurous in just a few days. The first day I felt like I was their whole world with one trying to snuggle in my ear. Within one week they are hopping around and we have to herd them. Our cockatiel chirps with them. Soon they will chill. To Lucy, Thanks for asking about me. We have a chicken coup with a small booted bantum hen name pidgeroo. When the young ladies are ready, they will go outside -with weather warmer and size larger. I know every night pidgeroo will lay on top of them.
To Diana - Your pictures and captions are sweet. I shall take some for my photo album.
    Love, me.
